Highfield Level 4 Award In Understanding the External Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice
Do you want to become an external quality assurer (EQA) but don’t yet have the opportunity to carry out this role? This qualification will be your first step towards an EQA role. It is designed for those who want to develop their careers into external quality assurance and work for an awarding organisation, but who are not yet undertaking this role. The qualification covers the knowledge that you need for the role but you do not need to provide evidence of undertaking external quality assurance to complete this award.
So why not complete this qualification to show future employers and awarding organisations that you are serious about the role and you are part way to completing the full EQA qualification? This training will give you an excellent understanding of E QA. Completing this qualification will not only give you a recognised qualification, it will prepare you for success at interview and in the job role. In its own right, it is an excellent continuous development qualification for an IQA working with vocational qualifications as its will deepen your knowledge of external quality assurance practice and procedures.
You don’t have to be employed as an EQA to complete this qualification.
Entry requirements:
In order to complete this qualification, learners are required to:
• Be a minimum of 19 years of age
Learners must hold one of the following qualifications prior to enrolling:
• Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice
• Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice
• Level 4 Award in Conducting Internal Quality Assurance of the Assessment Process V1
• Internally Verify the Assessment Process D34
To be a fully qualified EQA, you will need to complete the full Highfield EQA qualification. By completing this Award, you will already have completed one of the two units in the full EQA qualification. To complete the full EQA qualification, you will need to be working as an EQA for an awarding organisation, as it is not possible to gain this qualification unless you can provide evidence of your skills in quality assurance.

When you enrol with us, you will be allocated an experienced assessor and receive a textbook and resources to support you with your qualification. You will then begin working on unit 1. Your assessor will provide guidance and feedback on your written work.
You must complete of a portfolio of evidence that will cover all assessment criteria for the required units.
Unit 1 assessment
- you must complete an assignment which covers assessment criteria. You can submit this in intervals for ongoing support and feedback from your expert tutor.
- you will participate in a planned professional discussion with your tutor to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of assessment.
You will have 3 months from enrolment to complete the qualification, although many learners complete earlier.
You will be allocated a named assessor who will provide you with unlimited online support throughout the qualification. You will have a face to face online induction with your assessor to plan your first steps and answer any questions you may have. Further tutorials can be arranged with your assessor, either face to face, online or via telephone, as required.
