Our Level 4 Designated Safeguarding Person Training for secondary schools, colleges and training providers is designed for existing or new designated safeguarding officers in educational settings. This training is delivered online via Teams by expert trainers who are all experienced safeguarding tutors. The training is interactive and ensures attendees will be fully engaged throughout the day. This training will give attendees the knowledge and confidence to undertake this demanding and vital role. All our safeguarding training is delivered by approved safeguarding trainers with excellent occupational experience.

Ofsted specifies that ‘there is a designated senior member of staff in charge of safeguarding arrangements who has been trained to the appropriate level and understands their responsibilities relating to the protection of children, young people and vulnerable adults and the safeguarding of all learners.’  Inspecting safeguarding in early years, education and skills settings.

Ofsted will want to see evidence of the learning outcomes for any safeguarding course you have taken. They will expect these outcomes to reflect the safeguarding training criteria they set out. But it is important to remember that Ofsted does not approve any safeguarding courses from any training provider. For this reason, it is your responsibility to source a training course that meets all of the required inspection outcomes.

This course has been written to reflect the requirement for Ofsted and current legislation and is facilitated by former Ofsted Inspectors with a strong safeguarding background so you can be assured of the quality and relevance of the training.

Our safeguarding training includes the latest updates and Ofsted guidance, including peer on peer abuse, child exploitation and County Lines. This training is designed to meet the training requirements of Designated Safeguarding Officers working in education.  The event will give attendees the opportunity to explore the requirements of the role in detail, wider considerations for safeguarding in educational environments and identify best practice. The training is interactive and thought provoking.

All staff should receive training when first undertaking this role, and thereafter on a 2 yearly basis as a minimum. Ofsted state ‘Designated members of staff in schools and colleges should be a senior member of the school or college leadership team and they should undertake safeguarding training every two years and their knowledge and skills should be refreshed at regular intervals, but at least annually’. Inspecting safeguarding in early years, education and skills settings.
