Our distance learning Highfield Level 3 Award in Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment is designed for people who want to assess vocational qualifications, but do not work as an assessor, and therefore cannot demonstrate their occupational competence.
On completion of this award you will have completed one unit of the full assessor qualification and you will be able to use this toward gaining this qualification.
In its own right, it is an excellent continuous development qualification for anyone working with vocational qualifications as its will deepen your knowledge so assessment practice and procedures.

Understanding the principles and practices of assessment
This qualification is assessed by the following method:
- You must complete of a short portfolio of evidence that must cover all assessment criteria which includes a series of activities and questions which are submitted for assessment. You will receive feedback on your work and the opportunity to resubmit if further evidence is required.
The course is for 3 months from enrolment, although many learners complete earlier.
