Highfield Level 4 Award in Understanding the Internal Quality Assurance Processes and Practice
Do you want to become an internal quality assurer (IQA) but don’t yet have the opportunity to carry out this role? This qualification will be your first step towards a quality role. It is designed for those who want to develop their careers into quality assurance roles. The qualification covers the knowledge you need for the role but you do not need to provide evidence of undertaking quality assurance to complete this award.
So why not complete this qualification to show employers you are serious about the role and you are part way to completing the full IQA qualification? This training will give you an excellent understanding of IQA. Completing this qualification will not only give you a recognised qualification, it will prepare you for success at interview and in the job role. In its own right, it is an excellent continuous development qualification for an assessor working with vocational qualifications as its will deepen your knowledge of internal quality assurance practice and procedures.
You don’t have to be employed as an IQA to complete this qualification.
To be a fully qualified IQA, you will need to complete the full Highfield IQA qualification. By completing this Award, you will already have completed one of the two units in the full IQA qualification. To complete the full IQA qualification, you will need to be working as an IQA supporting two assessors, as it is not possible to gain the full IQA qualification unless you can provide evidence of your skills in quality assurance.

Highfield Level 4 Award in Understanding the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice
You will have an online induction with your tutor who will provide you with unlimited support throughout the qualification. All our tutors are experienced assessors and internal quality assurers so you will have expert advice and guidance all the way through. You will also be provided with the key course textbook delivered to your home to help you have everything you need to be successful.
The Award has 1 unit which must be fully completed to gain the qualification. You do not have to be working with assessors to complete this qualification.
- Unit 1 Understanding the principles and practices of Internal Quality Assurance
This qualification is assessed by the following methods:
- You must complete an assignment which covers assessment criteria. You can submit this in intervals for ongoing support and feedback from your expert tutor
- You will participate in a planned professional discussion with your tutor to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of assessment.
After you have completed your assignment and professional discussion you will have provided evidence to complete this qualification.
You will have 3 months from enrolment to complete the qualification, although many learners complete earlier.
You will be allocated a named assessor who will provide you with unlimited online support throughout the qualification. You will have a face to face online induction with your assessor to plan your first steps and answer any questions you may have. Further tutorials can be arranged with your assessor, either face to face, online or via telephone, as required.
