NCFE Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training
Best for Training’s NCFE Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training is the ideal course for you if you wish to have an interesting and rewarding career in teaching. Its a great qualification if you want to teach learners in years 10, 11 or above/adults in further education and training settings. It is also a requirement to hold the level 5 to gain your Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS).
You will build on your experience and understanding of teaching and assessment and will gain a nationally recognised accredited level 5 qualification. You must be training or teaching learners for a minimum teaching practice requirement of 100 hours over the duration of the course.

NCFE Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training consists of an excellent range of units which meets the needs of a range of teaching and training environments.
There are 7 units that must be fully completed to gain the qualification.

- Teaching, learning and assessment in education and training
- Theories, principles and models in education and training
- Wider professional practice in education and training
- Developing, using and organising resources within a specialist area
- Inclusive practice
- Action research
You will complete a series of assignment- one per unit. Additionally you will use a range of work products to support your written assignments for example, session plans and schemes of work.
You will receive feedback on your work and the opportunity to resubmit if further evidence is required.
It is a requirement of the qualification that you complete 100 recorded teaching hours and have at least 8 hours of teaching observations carried out over the course, in your workplace, by a qualified colleague. We can provide tutors to carry out observations in some instances at an additional cost.
You must successfully achieve ‘good’ observation grades for six out of eight of your mandatory teaching observations.
The qualification usually takes 12 months.
You will be allocated a personal tutor who will be an experienced and highly qualified teacher who will provide unlimited support throughout the course via online tutorials, emails and phone calls.
