NCFE Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training
Best for Training’s on-site NCFE Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training is the ideal course for staff who have experience of teaching or training others or teachers who wish to achieve their Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS).
Candidates will build on their experience and understanding of teaching and assessment and will gain a nationally recognised accredited level 5 qualification. Staff must be training or teaching learners for a minimum teaching practice requirement of 100 hours over the duration of the course.
This is an ideal programme to enhance the quality of training that your staff deliver to others, whether internally or externally.
Staff must complete of a portfolio of evidence that must cover all assessment criteria which includes a series of written assignments which are submitted for assessment at the end of each daily session. Staff will receive verbal and written feedback on their work and the opportunity to resubmit if further evidence is required. Staff must successfully achieve ‘good’ observation grades for six out of eight of their mandatory teaching observations, and evidence the 100 hours teaching practice.
There must be a minimum of eight observations totalling a minimum of eight hours. This excludes any observed practice completed as part of the Level 3 Award in Education and Training or Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training. Any single observation must be a minimum of half an hour. Observations should be appropriately spaced throughout the whole programme and take into account a trainee teacher’s progress.
The eight observations must be linked to the following mandatory units:
- Teaching, learning and assessment in education and training
- Developing teaching, learning and assessment in education and training
On successful completion of this qualification, you may wish your staff to continue their professional development by achieving QTLS status. Visit https://set.et-foundation.co.uk/professionalism/qtls for further information.
