CACHE Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator EYE)
The CACHE Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator – EYE) prepares learners to become Early Years Educators, enabling them to work with children from birth to 5 years and gain knowledge of children aged 5 to 7 years.
This level 3 qualification has 30 UCAS points allowing progression onto higher education. This qualification is designed for working practitioners who wish to study on a part time basis. You will undertake this qualification as a distance learning model where you will study independently and meet regularly with your assessor without the need to attend taught sessions.

What is an Early Years Practitioner?
From September 2014 anybody who wishes to work as a fully qualified Early Years Practitioner will be required to complete this Early Years Educator course. It will be the only level 3 vocational qualification that will allow you to fully engage in childcare.
Early Years Practitioners will work in various settings to care for babies and children aged from birth to five years old and have an understanding of children aged 5 – 7 years. It will be the role of the Early Years Educator to help the children learn, develop and prepare for school. The EYP may support Early Years teachers or indeed may deliver the childcare and teaching themselves.

You can either pay full price of £1950 or £250 initial payment, then 17 monthly payments of £100 by standing order.
The qualifications is structured around three themes:
- Theme 1: Health and well-being
- Theme 2: Legislation, frameworks and professional practice
- Theme 3: Play, development and learning for school readiness
Topics include child development, theory and observation practice ,physical and emotional wellbeing, safeguarding, partnership working and equality and diversity
Our experienced assessors will support you with this qualification every step of the way and enable you to be successfully gain this challenging qualification.
You must pass all units by presenting a portfolio of evidence. You must also complete longitudinal study. You must show competence in a real work environment via assessor observations of practice, witness statements and work products.
You will need to be working, volunteering or on a practical placement as an important part of the assessment process involves evaluating skills in real working situations. We recommend 350 hours across the age ranges.

Successful learners can progress onto the CACHE Level 4 Certificate for the Early Years Advanced Practitioner and enhance their career prospects in this rewarding sector.

Early Years Educator: GSCE English and Maths Requirement
From 3 April 2017, the requirement for Level 3 Early Years Educators (EYE) to hold GCSE English and maths A*-C, will be broadened to Level 2 qualifications, including Functional Skills. This will also apply to an apprenticeship route. This will enable staff with an EYE qualification and Level 2 English and mathematics qualifications to count in the Level 3 staff: child ratios in childcare settings. This includes those who already hold an EYE qualification, began studying an EYE from September 2014 or will achieve an EYE in the future. International qualifications can be checked through NARIC.
An enhanced DBS (CRB) check will be required at the start of the course.
