An Ofsted inspection can be a very stressful experience for organisations and their staff. It is important to be as prepared as possible and ensure your staff know what to expect under the Common Inspection Framework. Working to the Early Years Evaluation Schedule our consultants will review all aspects of the inspection or focus on the areas your organisation has identified as areas of concern.
Whether you require a focus on a specific area of provision or a whole organisational approach, our Early Years consultant is here to support you as a critical friend.
We will help you to prepare for your Ofsted Early Years inspection and assist you with your Self Assessment and Quality Improvement Plan.
Our Early Years consultant, Helen, worked as an early years inspector for Ofsted for many years, where she liaised with over 530 early years providers to help them identify the strengths of their services and prioritise areas they could develop further. Helen uses her expertise to raise the quality of educational practice through research, early interventions, professional training and quality assurance. She is a qualified teacher who specialised in working with families to teach babies with profound hearing loss how to listen and speak. Helen completed pioneering doctoral and post-doctoral work at Cambridge University to identify how deaf and hearing infants acquire speech and language skills and evaluated the impact of various early interventions. She continues to work with professionals to raise the quality of teaching in listening and speaking so that children enter school with the language, self-confidence and pre-literacy skills they need to flourish.
Prior to our planned Early Years Quality Audit, we will discuss your requirements and any specific areas of concern you may have. Our consultants will carry out observations, meet with staff and students, safeguarding leads and your Ofsted nominee. At the end of the quality audit, Helen will give verbal feedback and this will be followed up with a written report detailing her findings and proposed areas for development.
Following, the visit we can continue to work your setting with ongoing consultancy services, if required.
